چکیده
As functionally graded material (FGM) plates are widely used in engineering and industrial fields, the fracture strength evaluation of cracked FGM plate becomes increasingly important. However, due to gradation mechanical properties FGM, few analytical methods simple available. In this paper, a convenient method for under different loadings is proposed terms stress intensity factor (SIF) appearing at crack tip. This uses stable relationship singular fields between homogeneous greatly simplify complex SIF calculation process plate. The results show that SIFs tension, bending, three-point bending (experiment) can be obtained conveniently accurately by using two formulas, trends critical also investigated directly even if solution (reference problem) unknown. Comparisons with published theoretical experimental indicated present reliable, precise, practical determine perform prediction.

Buckling of Rectangular Functionally Graded Material Plates under Various Edge Conditions
In the present paper, the buckling problem of rectangular functionally graded (FG) plate with arbitrary edge supports is investigated. The present analysis is based on the classical plate theory (CPT) and large deformation is assumed for deriving stability equations. The plate is subjected to bi-axial compression loading. Mechanical properties of FG plate are assumed to vary continuously along ...
متن کاملR-curve and strength behavior of a functionally graded material
The effects of loading conditions, specimen size and metal particle size on the crack growth resistance curve (R-curve) and residual strength of a ceramic-metal functionally graded material (FGM) are studied based on the crack-bridging concept. It is found that the FGM exhibits strong R-curve behavior when a crack grows from the ceramic-rich region toward the metal-rich region and the residual ...

متن کاملNatural frequencies of functionally graded plates by a meshless method
We use the global collocation method, the first and the third-order shear deformation plate theories, the Mori–Tanaka technique to homogenize material properties, and approximate the trial solution with multiquadric radial basis functions to analyze free vibrations of functionally graded plates. Frequencies computed by the present method are found to agree well with those from the analytical so...
متن کاملA New Quasi-3D Model for Functionally Graded Plates
This article investigates the static behavior of functionally graded plate under mechanical loads by using a new quasi 3D model. The theory is designated as fifth-order shear and normal deformation theory (FOSNDT). Properties of functionally graded material are graded across the transverse direction by using the rule of mixture i.e. power-law. The effect of thickness stretching is considered to...
